Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta according package "al dente" instructions.
Meanwhile, heat EVO in large saute pan over medium high, until oil shimmers. Add garlic cloves and saute for 1 minute. Do not let them brown.
Add tomatoes, red cracked pepper, 1/2 tsp pepper, 1/2 tsp salt. Stir, cover and cook undisturbed, 6 - 7 min. Tomatoes will breakdown and blister.
Add half of the basil, recover, and let sauce cook 6-7 minutes more, stirring occasionally.
Remove garlic cloves. On a cutting board, press them into a paste with a spatula, and return to sauce. Mix thoroughly.
Drain pasta and add back to large pot. Pour the sauce into pot and toss thoroughly. Plate pasta, topping with remaining basil.
